Two Little Teeth

During Sophie's sickness she sprouted two little teeth! Finally! Over the last two months, whenever she was fussy or had trouble sleeping we kept blaming it on her teeth. (Those poor teeth were blamed for everything!) Now that it has finally happened, it is very fascinating for Sophie. She is constantly putting a finger or two in her mouth to feel her teeth. She seems to just sit there and try to figure out what is happening inside her mouth. Now that she has her teeth she is like a little puppy, she will chew on anything! She will grab for your fingers and put them in her mouth, you have to be careful- those little teeth are sharp!

During the last few weeks, Sophie has been trying hard to sit up. She is finally getting the hang of it- but you still have to sit close by as she will often topple over to the side. She seems to really like shoes, that's my girl! and will often make a lunge for your feet. We are hoping that this excitement of shoes and reaching for them might interest her in crawling. Currently she does not like to be on her tummy, no matter what sort of items are in front of her. She will simply roll over the minute you place her face down. We will have to see what happens. It saddens me to say this, but Sophie loves watching football. Were not sure why, but whenever it is on TV it gains her interest. She will even stop drinking from her bottle to watch the game- and this is a big deal because eating is Sophie's favorite thing to do. This picture was taken when Sophie was watching football and I thought her expression was funny, almost as if she had placed a bet on who was going to win the game, and was anxiously awaiting the outcome.
Sophie is now starting to stand, but she is very wobbly. It is kind of like watching someone hula-hoop, without a hoop. Her little hips swing forward and back as she tries to balance. We of course think that this is very cute, and keep telling her that we are laughing with her-not at her.

  1. What a big girl! All those changes all at once - congratulations! It's kind of crazy, isn't it? I never knew how excited I would get over the smallest things. I love Soph's face while watching football, that is hilarious. It took Claire a long time to crawl, but then once she did, there was no stopping her. I found that putting things in front of her (like you are doing with shoes) were the best motivation. My cell phone was a huge motivator. Sophie is such a cutie, what fun pictures!

  2. We have tried the Cell phone and the remote- all the things we swore that we would never let our baby play with- and so far no luck. But, we will keep trying!
