Playing at the Cabin

We spent our first official weekend at the Cabin. Sophie, of course, did great and seemed to have no problems getting used to the guest house again. She napped, ate, and played great all weekend. Sophie's favorite things about being at the cabin are getting to boss around her grandparents and playing with her cousins.

Here is Sophie and her cousins playing with bubbles with Uncle Ry Ry.

Part of the construction still taking place. I think only Sophie will be really sad when it's over.

Bossing around Grandpa on the tramp. She told him when to jump, when to run, when to stand up, and when to sit. She thought this was so much fun that the next day she made Grandma do it. She's a bossy little thing.

Throwing rocks at Lake McDonald. This of course was such fun that she wanted to get in the lake- and very nearly did. Everyone within a 50 mile radius heard how upset she was to leave. The benefit of having a sassy 2 year old? I like to think she's keeping the bears away.

More Blankie Lovin'

Sophie has taken her blankie lovin' to a whole new extreme. She now wears it on her head. She has two fashionable and lovely styles of wearing her blankie-
1) the pink, frilly nun style where she holds it at her neck. This is a preferred style as one can still have a free hand to play with, and be able to talk and see.

2) the over-the-head Cousin It style. Unfortunately this is her favorite style as it renders her blind and she has to feel her way around the house. You would think that walking into walls would be a deterrent for this little lady, but it is apparently part of the fun.
Since she sleeps with her blankie, and plays with her blankie it is getting harder and harder to sneak it away to wash. Perhaps it might just crawl out the door...

Play-Doh Time

We have had a wet, rainy month. We have been stuck inside for days at a time. It's awful. What do you do to pass the time, you might ask? Play-Doh. Sophie loves Play-Doh and it easily takes up a half-hour or more. We do this a couple of times a day. I am pleased to say that she has not swallowed any yet- although she does try to sneak it into her mouth every now and then. Luckily her pickiness is paying off, because she just spits it back out. My Play-Doh skills are awesome in Sophie's eyes- I can make a snake. I'm very talented.

We got a bag of toys that helps extend the playing time.
